About the role
- Fund Accounting Manager at State Street managing alternatives fund accounting and client relationships. Leading team operations, fund initialization and transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Day to day management of team members, maintenance of assigned activities, allocate and coordinate resources and handle personnel related issues
- Act as escalation point for operational issues, providing technical expertise as needed
- Manage and develop relationships with clients, counterparties and other external parties
- Act as a State Street representative to clients and manage client expectations and queries
- Collaborate on Transformation design initiatives, system enhancements or new requirements, including development of new product servicing (e.g., crypto servicing)
- Participate in new client engagements, initialization of funds and expansion of the global operating model
- Review and update department operational processes to ensure effective controls and mitigate operational risk
Requirements
- Degree level at any discipline preferred but not essential
- Prior fund accounting experience necessary (3-5 years)
- Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to escalate where appropriate
- Experience working with Hedge Funds, Private Markets, Crypto Funds and Hybrid Funds (preferred)
- Experience managing and developing relationships with clients and counterparties
- Team management experience (day to day management of team members)
