About the role
- Financial Accountant leading financial reporting and statutory accounting activities for Access Bank UK. Collaborating with multiple teams to ensure accurate financial outputs in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the financial reporting activities of the Bank operate within an effective control environment and manage risk-related processes relevant to the team.
- Lead in delivering on-time activities concerning the Bank’s month-end closing process and reporting to Access Bank Plc.
- Assist with the half-year and full-year group reporting packs, ensuring accuracy of output and adherence to review processes.
- Assist with the annual financial statements and ensure an effective and issue-free external audit.
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual VAT returns and oversee the review of the Bank’s PESM on a periodic basis.
- Manage a horizon scanning and implementation process for developments in relevant developments affecting the Bank for accounting issues.
- Enhance and automate key processes as agreed with the Financial Controller.
- Enhance review processes by delivering additional analysis to support management review of key outputs.
- Collaborate with the Management Accountant to deliver management reporting to the Bank as necessary.
Requirements
- Fully ACCA qualified and 5+ years of relevant post-qualified experience
- Strong understanding of IFRS standards
- Microsoft Office Systems Knowledge especially Excel and Word Processing & Procedural Knowledge
