About the role
- Director leading regulatory filings and alignment for health insurer HCSC. Oversee product changes, regulatory filings, strategic planning, and cross-functional program delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage team responsible for ideation to execution development and assist leadership as needed with goal and priority development
- Conduct ideation around line of business markets and evaluate new ideas and concepts against line of business goals, objectives and operational capabilities
- Assist and providing input on business cases, managing prioritization process and developing project updates
- Lead initial project brainstorming / orientation sessions to identify and frame issues and generate hypotheses around organizing and prioritizing work
- Translate strategy into executable plans and oversee successful implementation
- Develop clear and compelling deliverables that present work approach and results to multiple internal / external audiences
- Collaborate with government relations areas to determine and develop corporate positions on line of business-related topics
- Develop success measures around implementation and infrastructure efforts and ensure reporting and tracking
- Coordinate design, development and implementation efforts of new ideas and concepts that cross multiple functional areas
- Manage team to track programs and initiatives across the line of business to ensure proper handoffs and coordination between functional areas
- Support the line of business needs for internal and external customers, including brokers, client / consultant meetings, internal training and report out sessions, and future roadmap
- Support Plan President with internal and external communications and determine presentation needs for executives while advising and counseling on techniques and strategies
- Keep abreast of best practices and strategic trends in health-care products and industry
- Interact one-on-one and in group settings with departmental/inter-departmental team members to identify issues, gather data, brainstorm, prioritize, discuss analytic approach, and share findings
- Develops, measures and reports the metrics and financial requirements for reporting and budget management needs
- Manage multiple priorities across projects and work with staff to complete tasks on time
- Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested
Requirements
- Bachelor’s AND 10 years of experience in health care, health insurance, or consulting environment
- 5 years’ experience in a management/leadership capacity
- Experience with strategic planning, strategy development, project management and/or analytics and research
- Experience within the health care insurance industry
- Management experience leading and mentoring staff
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with interacting successfully with senior management and staff across multiple departments
- Organizational skills, including ability to prioritize tasks
- Creativity and innovation, analysis and implementation skills and experience
- Advanced level of business acumen and project/process integration skills
- Strong facilitation skills
- Overseeing the annual budget and allocating resources for various projects and operational needs
- Translating needs and initiatives into compelling business cases
- Conducting cost-benefit analyses to justify investments and ensure ROI
- MBA, MHA, MPH (preferred)
- Experience with document and / or contract management (preferred)
- Government Programs, Regulatory or Affordable Care Act experience (preferred)
- Experience with implementation (preferred)
- 10+ years of Health care industry experience (preferred)
- Lead SME role in large programs (preferred)
