Corporate Controller overseeing financial reporting and accounting operations at Myriad Genetics. Driving excellence in compliance, technical accounting, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
Supervise a team of approximately 20 employees including GL accounting team, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting & technical accounting and equity administration.
Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, consolidations, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets and technical accounting.
Oversee the preparation of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
Drive process improvements, systems enhancements, and automation to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Own SOX compliance, maintaining a robust internal control environment, partnering with internal audit and external auditors.
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, tax, legal, and operations to provide insights and support strategic initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, MACC or MBA preferred; CPA required.
10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership roles within public companies.
Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
Strong technical accounting foundation, ideally with prior experience in Big 4 or national public accounting.
Track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with executive leadership, Board, and external stakeholders.
Systems savvy with experience driving automation and ERP optimization. Experience with Oracle Fusion a plus.
