About the role
- Combat System Engineer supporting the discovery phase of contract awards in defence combat and Mission systems development. Collaborating within a technical team to meet project objectives in a hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Undertake technical work activities within a system engineering context.
- Work as part of a technical team in support of project objectives
- Assist in the production of technical documentation in support of work carried out.
- Engaging with stakeholders, project managers and senior technical staff to ensure customer and business needs are satisfied appropriately and problems are mitigated
- Advising on combat systems development, acquisition, evolution, testing, evaluation, acceptance, interface management, and lifecycle management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent education with relevant experience
- Requirements identification and management
- Acceptance identification and management
- Subcontractor technical management
- IVVQA experience
- Certification experience MOD defence
- Experience in the defence industry
- Technical/Specialized Knowledge: Lean/Agile methodology, experience with naval systems or/and mission systems is highly desirable.
- Tools: Experience with JIRA, DOORS, EA
- Hold or be eligible to gain UK gov security clearance.
- 5+ years’ experience in System Engineering area
