About the role

• Entry-level engineer working on water and wastewater projects at Hazen and Sawyer. Preparing deliverables, supporting senior engineers, and participating in fieldwork and site visits in New York.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering deliverables, including sampling studies, condition assessments, process modeling, hydraulics, and design reports
• Work directly with senior level engineering team providing mentoring opportunities to learn and develop
• Manage data for process modeling and design
• Attend client and internal project management meetings
• Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to select equipment
• Support multiple projects from planning through construction
• Participate in fieldwork and site visits (mostly in-state)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering
• Strong interest in the water/wastewater industry
• Strong communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• EIT certification (preferred)
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering (preferred)
• Conducts self-quality reviews before submitting work for additional QA/QC (preferred)
