About the role
- Accounting and Tax Specialist at Apify, a platform for AI tools and web automation, focusing on Czech accounting and tax operations. Driving compliance and leveraging technology for efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Drive bookkeeping and accounting standards in cooperation with the external accounting firm, audit firm
- Manage corporate income tax and overall tax compliance (Czech entity [+ 1 foreign entity])
- Become the point of contact for accounting and tax-related matters (corporate income tax, VAT, global tax compliance)
- Help with monthly financial closings (bookkeeping/accounting)
- Leverage technology to automate AP and monthly closings
- Corporate income taxes, VAT
- Local & global tax compliance
- Perform basic bookkeeping and accounting operations; use automation tools to reduce routine tasks
- Drive and help with monthly reconciliation efforts
- Coordinate with key stakeholders: internal financial controlling team, external accounting service, audit firm, external tax advisors
- Reconcile books against management reporting, ensure data consistency
- Monitor global tax compliance and register for tax payment in new tax territories
- Oversee local and global tax returns
- Forecast tax liabilities: corporate income tax, VAT/Sales tax
Requirements
- You have at least 2 years of experience in Czech tax and accounting
- You have experience in automation and digitalization in accounting
- You have solid proficiency in corporate income tax and VAT
- You are a thinker and a doer in 1 person
- You are comfortable communicating with clients and external partners
- You have advanced proficiency in Czech/Slovak and English
