About the role
- Accountant/Finance Specialist delivering financial outputs aligned with IFRS 17 at Zurich's Technology Delivery Center. Responsible for ledger tasks, financial reporting, and process improvements in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver FAR outputs aligned with IFRS 17 and Swiss Local GAAP requirements
- Execute ledger tasks: accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and journal postings
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to Group and local stakeholders
- Perform in depth analysis and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts
- Identify discrepancies, propose corrective actions, and maintain data accuracy
- Analyse Intercompany balances for assigned trading partners
- Investigate variances, track follow-up actions, and provide clear commentary
- Maintain Intercompany differences at a minimal and controlled level
- Support streamlining and automation of data gathering, analytics, and reporting
- Contribute to the transformation of manual processes into automated solutions
- Advocate for better data quality and enhanced reporting insights
- Execute Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) activities
- Uphold Group control standards and contribute to a strong control environment
- Participate in finance-related projects and local change implementations
- Support adoption of new tools, systems, and process improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Preferably a qualified accountant
- Minimum 2 years of accounting or finance experience—ideally insurance, banking, or external audit
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, IFRS 17, and statutory reporting
- Skilled in GL activities (accruals, provisions, reconciliations, postings)
- Proficient in SAP; desirable experience with SQL, Access, or Power BI
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills
- Highly precise, structured, and detail-oriented
- Proactive mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills
- Flexible and comfortable in a fast-changing environment
