About the role
- Financial Analyst I at Seaspan supporting various financial activities and analysis. Assisting with financial reporting and collaborating with senior finance professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including labour report and finance statements
- Assist with annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts for both operational overhead as well as chargeable project hours
- Runs weekly labour reports, providing analytical commentary
- Conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers of financial performance
- Assist in the development of financial models to evaluate business scenarios and to support strategic initiatives
- Research cost variances against monthly spend, budget, and forecasts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data
- Assist in the development and report of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling techniques
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting and financial analysis experience
