Responsibilities
Provide leadership, vision and direct oversight for all optical engineering teams and people managers in the design and deployment of optical network infrastructure as well as automation systems and services.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering teams, encouraging professional development and skill enhancement.
Mentor and develop emerging engineering leaders, promoting leadership skills and effective management practices across teams.
Drive deployment of multiple strategic projects including infrastructure build outs, capability enablement, development, user testing, and data integrity.
Directly support the cross functional teams by providing leadership and prioritization, removing roadblocks, and implement process and system improvements to improve efficiency.
Develop and document program operation for all initiatives.
Provide regular reporting on performance.
Manage vendors to provide products and development services needed to perform groups’ activities and execute against roadmap.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to inform strategic decisions and engineering practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role focused on optical networks.
Proven expertise in the design and deployment of DWDM systems and optical network infrastructure, specifically with platforms such as Infinera, Ciena, and Nokia.
Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Financial acumen and experience managing budgets for large-scale network projects.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
