About the role
- Senior Electrical Engineer supporting North Sea decarbonisation and energy sectors at Wood Digital Consulting. Role involves engineering excellence and technical expertise across all project phases in Hull office.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of engineering excellence for clients and stakeholders
- Serve as the technical expert on projects and hold advanced level specialization in one or more areas of expertise.
- Direct preparation of appropriate engineering documentation for assigned projects, through conceptual, feasibility, FEED and EPC phases.
- Ensure successful completion of the assigned project/phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
- Participate in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work
- Evaluate problems, organize investigations, and establish general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes, etc.
- Check Engineering calculations as well as check all drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards; Assist with the development of junior technical professionals
- Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Establish detailed designs and performance specifications to fulfill the requirements of assigned general specifications.
- Responsible for meeting discipline cost and schedule requirements in production of deliverables, coordinates own work schedule, and prepares progress reports.
- Recommend changes in plans and estimated cost when necessary.
- Participate in site visits, project review meetings, design reviews and other workshops as required.
- Provide technical input and support to proposals as required
Requirements
- MSc degree in Electrical Engineering - Mandatory
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certificate
- Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates (Amtech Trimble)
- Ability to comprehend and interpret Electrical technical information.
- A strong and capable knowledge of ATEX/UKEX standards (ExF, Ex12 desirable)
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Working level of competence in own discipline in the execution of assigned tasks.
- Working level of knowledge of industry and technology development within discipline area
- Ability to create functional and cost-effective designs and processes that meet complex specification requirements with little support.
- Knowledge and experience of the following – Electrical generation, transformation and distribution systems.
- Familiar in specification and interface management of Electrical requirements for Mechanical packages
- Familiar with interfacing with Client Engineers personnel to facilitate project execution.
- Experience with managing and liaison with Vendors to facilitate project execution
- Familiar with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
