About the role

  • Director of Marketing leading the marketing strategy for an FMCG company in Barcelona. Oversee brand equity and sales through data-driven decision making in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the annual marketing plan and brand roadmaps aligned with commercial objectives, market trends and consumer insights.
  • Own brand positioning, communication platforms, product portfolio lifecycle and innovation prioritisation to maximise brand health and market share.
  • Design and oversee integrated ATL, BTL and digital campaigns, ensuring trade activation and point-of-sale execution generate measurable uplift in sales and penetration.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of marketing, digital and trade marketing professionals, fostering cross-functional collaboration and high performance.
  • Work closely with Sales and Category teams to build joint business plans, promotional calendars and pricing strategies that drive profitability.
  • Use consumer, shopper and sales analytics to inform decisions, measure campaign ROI and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Manage marketing budgets, evaluate return on investment and ensure efficient allocation of resources to meet commercial targets.
  • Select and manage creative, media and research agencies, ensuring quality deliverables and adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure marketing activities comply with regulatory requirements, brand guidelines and corporate policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8–10 years in marketing roles within FMCG / Gran Consumo, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position managing brands and teams.
  • Proven track record of driving topline growth, improving market share and delivering measurable ROI from marketing investments.
  • Strong understanding of shopper marketing, category management, omnichannel activation and digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Degree in Marketing, Business, Economics or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Fluent English and Spanish. Additional languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and regionally as required.
