About the role
- Station Manager managing aviation fuel operations at Birmingham and East Midlands Airports. Responsible for safety, compliance, and operational excellence in aviation fuel delivery.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of World Fuel’ physical aviation fuel operations.
- Full responsibility for day‑to‑day operational management, safety leadership, asset oversight, and staff management.
- Lead and implement QHSE policies, standards, and processes.
- Ensure compliance with JIG standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage physical assets, into‑plane operations, storage facilities, and operational staff.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and development to operational teams.
- Oversee operations including maintenance, OPEX control, and fuel stock management.
- Support UK Operations Manager in facilitating business growth.
- Ensure materials, services, and purchase requests comply with approved Delegations of Authority.
- Review and approve purchase requests, overtime, and monthly KPI reports.
- Maintain high standards of product quality across all locations.
- Deliver customer service in line with contractual agreements.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support career development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A–C or equivalent) including Maths and English (essential)
- A–Level education or University Degree (desirbale)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the aviation fuels sector
- At least 2 years’ experience managing personnel and operations
- Proven experience managing into‑plane refuelling operations
- HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Strong understanding of operational risk, safety, and compliance
- Formal QHSE qualification (desirable)
- Working knowledge of Fuel Management Systems
- Experience with risk assessments and risk management
- Fluent English (spoken and written).
