About the role
- Senior AR Accountant responsible for issuing accurate invoices and managing accounts receivable at Westinghouse in Poland. Collaborating with project teams to enhance billing processes and ensuring timely collections.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the project manager and project teams to issue high-quality customer invoices that are generated and issued following internal control requirements
- Assure that all billing plans and related billing milestones for scopes of work are entered
- Prepare and follow to collection complex billing documentation following contractual terms
- Understand and support the cash application process
- Ensure timely collections of receivables by investigating and resolving past due payments, duplicate/ short payments, or unallocated cash
- Maintain explanations for aging receivables on the weekly AR report, ensuring follow-up actions align with collection targets and Indicator expectations
- Review the missed billing milestone report and follow up on past due milestones
- Take proactive steps to ensure invoices are sent and received by the customer
- Perform internal controls
- Be the backup and subject matter expert to other Accountants
- Identify and suggest process improvement opportunities within billing and accounts receivable
- Perform ad hoc tasks to assist the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 3-5 years of experience
- Knowledge of SAP
- Fluent knowledge of English language
- Maintains exceptional accuracy and consistency across all tasks and deliverables
- Take initiative to learn, improve, or enhance current operations
- Manage upward when appropriate to get a problem resolved or process improved
- Communicate internally and externally with diplomacy and tact
- Able to manage shifting priorities and maintain strong performance in a dynamic, fast-moving setting
- Working knowledge of common MS Office applications such as Excel and Word
- Able to work independently with strong self-direction and accountability.
