About the role
- Head of Controllership leading financial operations and compliance for Welltech's global finance team. Ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial processes and reporting across jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Financial statements preparation: Supervising the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP in all locations.
- Technical and operational accounting: Review and analyses accounting treatment of new transactions, maintain the company accounting policies, chart of accounts.
- Automatisation: drive automatisation and optimisation of accounting and financial reporting aiming reducing period end closure, increasing accuracy of financial information and control over financial information.
- Revenue: overseeing revenue recognition process, collections from merchants, focusing on optimizing and automating revenue recognition process.
- Audit coordination: Serving as the primary contact for external auditors during financial audits.
- Internal controls: Develop and maintain internal control frameworks for financial operations.
- Risk mitigation: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with financial processes and activities.
- Team leadership and development: Leading and developing a team of finance professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) required.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, audit or controllership, preferably in a multinational or tech-driven environment.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and multi-jurisdictional GAAP standards.
- Proven experience managing complex audits, revenue recognition, intercompany operations, and tax compliance.
- Track record in driving automation initiatives and ERP/reporting system optimization is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth, or digital product environments is a plus.
