About the role
- Senior Manager, Software Engineering overseeing SAP system landscapes and cloud-natives at Walmart. Leading a team in SAP Basis administration with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end SAP system landscapes with deep expertise in architecture design, system sizing, solution design, and build strategies.
- Design and support hybrid and cloud-native SAP environments across platforms such as Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Provide operational and architectural support for SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, CAR, Solution Manager (ChaRM), SAP LaMa, SAP BTP, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Enterprise Portal, and SAP Fiori.
- Architect and optimize SAP workloads on cloud platforms (Azure/GCP), including compute, networking, security, storage, backup/restore, and DR strategies.
- Drive cloud modernization initiatives including migration, automation, cost optimization, and cloud governance.
- Implement automation solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools to streamline SAP system provisioning, configuration, and patching.
- Integrate SAP environments into CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, monitoring, and operational workflows.
- Lead, mentor, and guide the SAP Basis team to ensure operational excellence and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP technical issues, performance bottlenecks, system failures, and data integrity problems.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, architecture, or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, CAR, and Solution Manager (ChaRM).
- In-depth experience with cloud platforms (Azure, or GCP) and hybrid SAP deployments.
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible , Shell/PowerShell scripting, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Strong understanding of SAP HANA, Oracle, or other enterprise databases including backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
- Experience with SAP BTP, SAP LaMa, SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Enterprise Portal, and SAP Fiori.
- Experience with infrastructure components: networking, load balancers, firewalls, storage systems, and OS-level administration (Linux/Unix).
