About the role
- System Specialist Operations conducting 2nd level support for applications and infrastructure at Vodafone. Managing SLAs and supporting optimization measures with technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform 2nd level support for applications, services and infrastructure.
- Define and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and service KPIs.
- Identify, coordinate and implement proactive optimization measures to prevent incidents.
- Manage escalations up to group management level.
- Support and assist with roll-outs of new systems, services and software.
- Support the implementation of projects throughout the lifecycle.
- Prepare and present decision papers and create operational instructions for 1st level support.
Requirements
- Technical vocational training with 5 years of professional experience, or a University of Applied Sciences degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science with at least 2 years of experience in IT application operations.
- Strong process and IT know-how in telecommunications.
- Good knowledge of operating systems (AIX / HP-UX / Sun Solaris / Linux / Windows), middleware/web technologies (IBM WebSphere MQ / WebLogic / Tomcat) and databases (Oracle).
- Experience operating applications in the cloud (AWS, Azure, OCI).
- Solid knowledge of UNIX scripting, Perl, PL/SQL and Python.
- Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach.
- ITIL knowledge and familiarity with Kepner-Tregoe methods.
- Basic network and protocol knowledge and experience with load balancing.
- Business-level English (approx. B1) spoken and written. German language skills desirable.
