About the role
- Head of Crypto Lending & Borrowing leading Uphold's new product vertical for lending and borrowing digital assets. Defining strategy and managing partnerships while ensuring compliant operations.
Responsibilities
- Own the P&L for the Lending & Borrowing business unit — accountable for both revenue generation and cost efficiency.
- Define and execute the commercial strategy for Uphold’s digital asset lending products, focusing on customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Legal, Risk, Treasury, and Compliance to ensure scalable and compliant business operations.
- Build and manage partnerships across the crypto ecosystem — including institutional lenders, exchanges, decentralized protocols, and liquidity providers.
- Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
- Develop and lead a high-performing team, fostering a results-driven, innovative, and risk-aware culture.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on all matters related to digital asset credit markets, DeFi integration, and on/off-ramp liquidity management.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in financial services, crypto, or fintech, including leadership roles in lending, borrowing, or structured products.
- Proven success in building or scaling a digital asset lending business — ideally in both retail and institutional markets.
- Deep understanding of crypto markets, blockchain-based collateral models, and DeFi protocols.
- Strong financial acumen with P&L ownership experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Understanding of U.S. lending regulations and digital asset risk frameworks.
- Prior experience launching crypto lending or yield products at a leading exchange, lending platform, or fintech.
- Experience working in a regulated, fast-paced, and globally distributed organization.
- Fluency in using large language models to increase performance in professional settings.
- Based in or willing to relocate to New York (preferred).
