About the role

• Project Manager delivering large-scale technology development projects at UNCF. Managing project activities from initiation to completion with stakeholder engagement and oversight.

Responsibilities

• Plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to established deadlines and budgets
• Responsible for developing and documenting all tasks that relate to a specific project
• Acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants
• Direct activities of the project, work directly with project resources on tasking, monitor project status, assist in resolution of project issues, and create related project documentation
• Interface directly with key stakeholders and customers to deliver solutions that exceed expectations
• Manage and oversee project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue/risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, internal client management
• Lead cross-functional teams of business SMEs and engineers
• Identify and mitigate risks proactively
• Influence business stakeholders by presenting multiple solution options with clear trade-offs and recommended approaches
• Monitor and report project performance using established metrics and communicate results

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of related work experience required
• At least 5+ years’ experience in project management, preferably in Data Management, Data Mining, or Application Development
• Awareness of PMI, CMM, and Six Sigma Methodologies and Standards
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Asana, SharePoint, MS Project experience a plus
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: PMP, PMI-ACP
• Experience and training in project management principles and techniques
• Strong working knowledge of computer technology
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project
• Experience using SharePoint as a document repository and communications medium
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and affiliated tools
• Experience in managing Information Technology projects or projects with a technology focus
