About the role
- IoT Quality Manager responsible for product quality throughout the lifecycle in consumer electronics. Collaborating with development, production, and testing partners to ensure compliance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the quality strategy of connected consumer products (hardware, firmware, app, system)
- Define, implement and continuously improve quality processes across the entire product lifecycle
- Manage and evaluate internal and external test and validation activities (HW, FW, system, integration)
- Act as the interface to external test laboratories, certification bodies and authorities
- Ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., CE, RED, EMC, product safety — depending on the product)
- Analyze field data, complaints and returns to drive continuous quality improvement
- Perform root cause analyses (RCA) and derive and track corrective actions (CAPA)
- Support development and product teams in risk-based decision making
- Contribute to supplier quality management and support quality-related audits
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Computer Science or a related field
- Several years of professional experience in quality management, QA, verification or validation of embedded or IoT products
- Strong technical understanding of: embedded hardware & firmware, system and integration testing, connected products (device – app – backend)
- Experience with consumer electronics or high-volume products is an advantage
- Knowledge of standards, regulations and certifications for electronic products
- Structured, pragmatic and solution-oriented working style
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent English skills; German is a plus.
