Responsibilities
Guide the establishment and implementation of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices across TELUS, defining the team’s mandate, processes, and standards that align with industry best practices
Facilitate cross-functional discussions with technical and business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, align priorities, and drive transformational changes that reduce manual work and improve efficiency
Develop and deploy automation solutions and Infrastructure as Code capabilities that enhance reliability and enable teams to be more proactive than reactive
Mentor and develop your team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration, and reinforcing the psychological safety required to challenge conventional thinking
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience managing engineering teams in reliability, operations, infrastructure, or similar roles
Deep expertise in Site Reliability Engineering practices and methodologies, with a proven track record of implementing or adapting SRE-related transformations
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with technical and operational teams
Strong experience in automation and Infrastructure as Code, with hands-on experience designing and deploying large-scale automation solutions
Demonstrated experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and leading operational excellence initiatives
Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications and experience evaluating or implementing intelligent, predictive automation systems
Experience in telecommunications, network operations, or large-scale distributed systems
Experience with monitoring, observability, and alerting platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, PagerDuty, Grafana, or similar tools)
