Responsibilities
- Guide the establishment and implementation of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices across TELUS, defining the team’s mandate, processes, and standards that align with industry best practices
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions with technical and business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, align priorities, and drive transformational changes that reduce manual work and improve efficiency
- Develop and deploy automation solutions and Infrastructure as Code capabilities that enhance reliability and enable teams to be more proactive than reactive
- Mentor and develop your team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration, and reinforcing the psychological safety required to challenge conventional thinking
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience managing engineering teams in reliability, operations, infrastructure, or similar roles
- Deep expertise in Site Reliability Engineering practices and methodologies, with a proven track record of implementing or adapting SRE-related transformations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with technical and operational teams
- Strong experience in automation and Infrastructure as Code, with hands-on experience designing and deploying large-scale automation solutions
- Demonstrated experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and leading operational excellence initiatives
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications and experience evaluating or implementing intelligent, predictive automation systems
- Experience in telecommunications, network operations, or large-scale distributed systems
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and alerting platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, PagerDuty, Grafana, or similar tools)
