About the role
- Accounting Manager overseeing finance operations at an international trading company. Leading a team and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Accounting team of 5 employees, including both professional and disciplinary responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for accounting in accordance with HGB (German Commercial Code), ensuring timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Support group reporting under IFRS, prepare annual financial statements and coordinate with auditors and external advisors
- Manage credit management for the DACH region; closely coordinate with Sales and Operations to optimize cash flow
- Ensure compliance with all tax, financial reporting and legal requirements and continuously improve internal controls and financial processes
- Support internal and external audits, including timely implementation of required measures
- Work closely with EU Finance Leadership and local management regarding budgeting, forecasts and business development
- Prepare financial analyses and management reports and actively contribute to process optimization, automation and efficiency improvements
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting; ideally with additional professional qualification (e.g., Steuerberater (tax advisor), CPA, ACCA)
- Several years of professional experience in accounting, including at least 3 years in a leadership role; solid knowledge of HGB and ideally IFRS, as well as experience with ERP systems and credit management
- Very good understanding of German tax and regulatory requirements and fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
- Strong leadership and communication skills, hands-on mentality, and an analytical, structured and solution-oriented working style in an international environment
