About the role
- Senior Purchasing Manager responsible for procurement strategy and operations in a dynamic media house. Overseeing vendor processes and managing supplier negotiations in Berlin, Germany.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for strategic and operational procurement in relevant commodity groups (e.g., Tech, SaaS, Sales, Marketing, Services)
- Analysis, implementation and continuous improvement of our procurement and supplier processes
- Negotiation of contracts and terms at regional and national level
- Conducting tenders, market and price analyses, and supplier evaluations
- Driving automation, process improvements and digital procurement tools
- Close collaboration with our Shared Service Center at holding level, especially on compliance, contract management, reporting and process harmonization
- Coordination with internal stakeholders from IT, Product, Editorial, Finance & Legal
- Further development of procurement KPIs and supplier management structures
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional experience in strategic and operational procurement, ideally in the digital, media or tech industry
- Confident contract management and strong negotiation skills
- Experience working with digital tools (ERP, SaaS or procurement systems)
- Strong commercial, analytical and process-oriented thinking
- Communicative, proactive and solution-oriented personality
- Fluent German and good English skills
- Willingness to work in a matrix structure and strong ability to collaborate with the Shared Service Center
