Responsibilities
Evaluate and process commercial property claims (with a focus on subscription policies)
Investigate claim circumstances by gathering and analyzing relevant information from policyholders, witnesses, and other sources
Engage and direct independent adjusters, appraisers, experts and coverage/defense counsel
Determine coverage by interpreting policy language and applying appropriate guidelines and regulations
Negotiate settlements with policyholders, claimants, and other insurers while maintaining fairness and company standards
Collaborate with underwriters to provide insights on risk assessment and policy improvements based on claims experience
Maintain detailed records of all claims activities, decisions, and communications in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
Develop relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth claims processing
Stay current with industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in claims handling
Travel up to 10% of the time to attend client/broker meetings, mediations, trials, etc.
Requirements
1 to 3 years of proven experience handling property claims, with particular emphasis on subscription policies
Demonstrated knowledge of insurance principles, policy interpretation, and claims procedures
Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
University degree or equivalent
