About the role

• Director Industrial Engineering overseeing teams for innovative production processes at Sunfire. Responsible for managing budgets, resources, and product development from conception to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Industrial Engineering department with 25–30 employees
• Full responsibility for all operational deliverables, including budget and resource management
• Accountable for manufacturing perspectives in the product development process for Sunfire technologies
• Develop and industrialize innovative manufacturing processes for high-temperature and pressurized alkaline electrolysis
• Manage operational ramp-up of new products and make strategic decisions

Requirements

• Degree (Diploma, Master’s) in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable engineering discipline
• Extensive experience in leadership and project management, particularly in process optimization and digitalization
• Deep expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, quality methods, data analysis and budget control
• Confident in preparing specifications, conducting design approvals, machine acceptance tests and capability verifications
• Proven experience planning and supporting the commissioning of production equipment
• 5–10 years of professional and leadership experience in mass production or small-series manufacturing
• Strong communication skills, assertiveness, strategic and analytical thinking, and a hands-on mentality
• Fluent German and business-fluent English (minimum C1 level)
