About the role

Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and serve as in-house counsel on a wide variety of matters.
- Assist with federal regulatory matters related to two accredited institutions of higher education.
- Assist with litigation and administrative proceedings.
- Provide legal analysis and advice on policy matters, especially regulatory compliance issues.
- Investigate legal issues and recommend actions.
- Negotiate and draft contracts and legal documents.
- Research federal and state legal questions.
- Assist with general corporate matters and review university programs, procedures, and policies for legal compliance.
- Provide legal and compliance training to in-house clients.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in the practice of law.
- Higher education experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Bar admission, or ability to become admitted, in Virginia, Minnesota, Maryland, or Washington, DC.
