Electrical Systems Project Engineer providing support for electrical installations in marine surveillance technology. Requires global travel and in-country project involvement, mainly in the Middle East.
Responsibilities
Review and approve proposed electrical installation configurations for a variety of equipment that rely upon electrical utility and power systems
Physically oversee and/or undertake installations with a “hands-on” approach and involvement
Train and coach field engineering teams to ensure high quality and consistent workmanship
Help build and maintain standard work procedures and standards
Review equipment installations, identify issues and propose/rectify remedial work
Where relevant, deeply understand equipment installation and configuration requirements to enable correct commissioning
Ensure all installations comply with technical standards, safety protocols, and project specifications
Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of all integrated systems
Document installation procedures and generate detailed reports for project stakeholders
Help to devise and define long term maintenance programs that ensure systems and equipment operate optimally and reliably
Requirements
Time served apprenticeship or QBE with holding a minimum 17th Edition
Proven experience in electrical installations – for example integrated CCTV and building monitoring systems, building power systems and or communication towers
Strong understanding of electrical standards, safety regulations, and networking fundamentals
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, server rack layouts, and technical drawings, schematics, standards and specifications
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Mobile Platforms (e.g. onboard vessels, mobile command units, aerospace)
Appreciation of cultural differences in overseas territories and ability to communicate well with overseas colleagues
