Responsibilities
- As a Product Manager for S&P Global's Enterprise Data Management Platforms team, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our enterprise data catalog.
- You will be responsible for defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for this innovative solution, which is designed to unify data discovery approach and metadata governance for the firm's vast data assets and revolutionize how metadata is discovered, governed, and utilized.
- Engage with stakeholders within a specific division to gather requirements for enterprise data catalog.
- Ensure that the development of the data catalog aligns with the overall strategic goals of S&P Global’s Enterprise Data Organization (EDO).
- Translate user needs into a prioritized product backlog, driving the agile development process to deliver a powerful, intuitive and semantic data catalog platform.
Requirements
- Experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably with a focus on data cataloging, metadata management, or data governance in an enterprise environment.
- Good understanding of commercial or open-source data catalog platforms (e.g., Data.World, DataHub, Collibra, Alation, or similar).
- Expertise in agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with federated or domain-oriented data environments and enterprise data governance frameworks is highly desirable.
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of influencing cross-functional teams and managing diverse global stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and manage project teams across diverse geographies, juggling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Experience using agile tools and practices for backlog management, planning, and story definition.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
