Responsibilities
Review, draft, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and other data privacy-related contracts
Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to evaluate risks and compliance requirements for new projects and technologies
Ensure compliance with regulations such as the GDPR, CCPA, and other global data privacy laws
Utilize tools such as OneTrust to manage privacy compliance programs, conduct assessments, and maintain records
Provide expertise in implementing and maintaining privacy technology solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align privacy and technology strategies with legal obligations
Maintain up-to-date privacy documentation, including policies, procedures, and training materials
Stay informed of legislative developments in data privacy, technology law, and AI-related regulations globally
Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders on the implications of new laws
Monitor, analyze, and advise on new laws and regulations related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other emerging technologies
Develop internal policies and guidelines to address compliance with AI-related regulatory requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field
Proven experience as a paralegal or legal specialist in data privacy, technology law, or a related area
Hands-on experience with OneTrust or similar privacy management tools
Strong understanding of global data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, CPRA) and emerging AI regulations
Experience in DPAs and tech contracts (e.g., SaaS, licensing agreements, and IP agreements)
Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks for AI and new technologies
Familiarity with ISO 27001 or other security standards is a plus
Excellent contract review, drafting, and negotiation skills
Strong analytical and communication skills to convey complex legal concepts effectively
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: advanced use of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Experience using platforms such as SharePoint for document storage, version control, and collaboration
Experience with e-signature tools like DocuSign or Adobe Acrobat Sign for contract execution
