About the role
- Solutions Engineer managing technical relationships with customers and prospects at Solace. Driving Proof of Concepts and presenting technical solutions to potential clients.
Responsibilities
- A Solutions Engineer owns technical relationships with customers and prospects.
- Driving and owning Proof of Concepts with prospects for identified sales opportunities.
- Assisting customers and prospects familiarize with Solace technology from conceptual to hands-on levels.
- Leading long (6months+) and complex sales cycles in full autonomy.
- Presenting ideas and concepts to a technical audience.
- Producing customer demonstrations and reviewing client code / providing integration examples.
- Advising clients on application / deployment architectures and performing pre and post-production technical assessments of customer deployments of Solace technology as part of the sales support process.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree, ideally in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering; Master’s in science, Business or Engineering an asset
- 5+ years experience in technology/presales/technical strategy consulting roles in the financial services/capital markets industry
- Domain knowledge of one or more verticals within the financial services\capital markets industry
- Experience as an Engineering Leader in a technology firm
- Ability to articulate technical concepts and solutions to various audiences, from CTOs/CIOs to Developers, evangelizing modern concepts to help transform traditional solutions, especially in the integration and digital domains
- Solid presentation and white-boarding skills
- Must have solid presentation and communication skills
- Presales experience would be an asset
- Technical knowledge of messaging products such as IBM MQ, TIBCO EMS/RV and/or Open Source messaging such as Kafka, Rabbit, ActiveMQ, etc. would be beneficial to the role
- Enterprise Integration Patterns and Solution architecture experience would be an asset
- Experience with Technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, PaaS platforms.
