Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership, planning, and oversight for the institution's accessibility initiatives
- Coordinate compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and related federal and state regulations
- Develop and lead the execution of compliance plans, projects, and processes
- Act as a liaison for the department to both internal and external constituencies
- Chair or lead accessibility-related committees and working groups
- Provide training and policy education for faculty and staff
- Draft and implement policies, procedures, and initiatives related to ADA and Section 504 compliance
- Responsible for the disability grievance procedure and serves as the final decision-maker for related appeals.
- Provide secondary support to the Title IX and equity functions of the Office of General Counsel and Compliance.
- Assist in the coordination of investigations, training, policy development, and case management related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.
Requirements
- 4 + Years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Broad knowledge of ADA/504 Compliance in the higher education setting
- Familiarity with digital accessibility principles and tools (e.g., WCAG standards, accessible document and web practices)
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment
- Proven Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse population
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- While maintaining a high attention to detail, ability to understand the scope of the position within the context of the larger organization
- Ability to think critically and demonstrate initiative.
