Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and evaluate team members to achieve departmental goals
- Provide guidance on policies, procedures, priorities, and technical issues to support staff effectiveness
- Monitor team performance trends and ensure complex projects are properly planned, reviewed, and budgeted
- Manage departmental budgeting, staffing needs, and incident‑reporting procedures
- Ensure strong security and compliance practices (including PCI) and maintain effective monitoring and escalation for all critical UNIX systems
- Maintain adequate staffing and coverage to support customer and production needs
Requirements
- 3 years experience directly managing teams and personnel
- 5 years of hands-on experience in UNIX/Linux environments
- Strong working knowledge of system administration concepts and UNIX/Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of industry standard UNIX hardware platforms preferred
- Knowledge of industry standard SAN and Virtualization preferred
- Knowledge of industry best practices and current Internet technologies preferred
- Strong knowledge of IT security best practices
- Proficient in MS Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
