Responsibilities
Perform forensic assignments within the field of mechanical engineering expertise
Investigate how and why an incident occurred and determine whether it was a result of mechanical failure of equipment
Inspect sites/products/equipment and perform analysis of commercial and non-commercial equipment
Determine cause and origin of damage and perform mechanical engineering analysis and calculations
Prepare sketches as required
Conduct various analyses including equipment and machinery design and failure, industrial incidents, product failure and liability, and materials analysis
Prepare oral and written reports to document analysis, extent of loss, associated repair scope, and recommended remediation steps
Provide expert opinions and testimony in deposition and trial as required
Manage multiple projects and work with other experts as needed
Use equations, applications, techniques, tools, and resources to analyze issues
Initiate, develop, and maintain client relationships
Requirements
B.S. Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering degree or equivalent from an accredited program
F.E. exam completed
P.E. licensure or ability to complete PE license within one year
Minimum 5 years of experience, including knowledge of machinery and equipment
Valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation
Candidates must be able to travel locally by personal vehicle including transportation of tools and instruments
