About the role

  • Procurement Manager overseeing sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain coordination in construction and manufacturing. Leading supplier negotiations and ensuring timely material delivery for projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with Permacorp’s manufacturing and construction project needs, with a focus on cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors — including raw-material providers, equipment vendors, and service contractors — that meet company standards for quality, reliability, and price.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier agreements, leveraging purchasing power to secure favorable terms (price, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and data: track purchase orders, delivery schedules, supplier performance, and cost data.
  • Support data entry, reporting, and documentation to ensure transparency and traceability across projects.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams — project management, manufacturing/production, construction scheduling, finance, and logistics — to align procurement activities with project timelines and avoid delays.
  • Forecast material and service needs based on upcoming project schedules, anticipate supply-chain risks, and proactively manage inventory or ordering cycles to avoid shortages or over-stock.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, lead-times, delivery compliance, and quality; escalate issues, and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions or alternate sourcing when needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes: implement best practices, review and optimize vendor selection and ordering workflows, and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for procurement.
  • Support budgeting and cost-control efforts — ensuring procurement stays within project budgets, and that cost savings or efficiencies are captured and reported.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Proven experience (ideally 3–5+ years) in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing roles — preferably within manufacturing, construction, or industrial operations.
  • Strong negotiation skills, vendor management, and contract-management experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and strong data-entry / documentation abilities.
  • Experience coordinating procurement with manufacturing or construction project timelines — including understanding of lead-times, delivery schedules, and the impact of materials/services on project progress.
  • Good analytical and cost-control mindset — ability to assess supplier proposals, compare options, and recommend cost-effective solutions that meet quality and scheduling needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills — ability to work cross-functionally with project managers, production teams, logistics, finance, and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and respond proactively to changes or supply-chain disruptions.
  • Familiarity with procurement software or tools (e.g., ERP, purchasing databases, vendor management systems) is a plus.
  • Experience in construction-related procurement or project-based sourcing is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in reducing procurement costs while maintaining or improving supply quality and delivery performance.
  • Certifications in supply chain/procurement (e.g., from recognized supply-chain certification bodies) are a plus.
