About the role

  • Underwriting Assistant providing administrative and operational support to insurance underwriters. Contributing to the team’s efficiency while developing a solid foundation in underwriting practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare standard insurance documents using templates and underwriters’ guidelines
  • Enter and update data in Guidewire or other systems
  • Organize and maintain digital underwriting files
  • Respond to routine broker requests and escalate more complex cases
  • Help gather underwriting information for submissions
  • Support compliance efforts by ensuring documentation accuracy

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the insurance industry
  • Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Bilingual (English/French) to support underwriters and brokers across Canada, both verbally and in writing
  • Flexibility to work according to the Pacific time zone
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively
  • Adaptability and proactivity
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility
