Responsibilities
Reviews and analyzes internal/external investigations, inspections and/or statuses to ensure rating/premium value integrity
Ensures meeting underwriting guidelines and corporate goals
Initiates policy adjustments for commercial product line(s) and tabulates results
Compares the rating characteristics of specific accounts and formulates a course of action to ensure compliance with corporate underwriting rules and procedures
Provides advanced technical and product information in response to questions/inquiries
Corresponds and maintains professional relationships with agents and producers
Updates rating criteria on affected policies
Completes activity sheets for compiling monthly reports
Performs calculations of premiums recovered to ascertain impact of inappropriate ratings
Underwrites and processes renewals and endorsements within commercial underwriting analyst authority level
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Two years insurance experience reviewing claims for possible changes in rating or acceptability status
Analyzing insurance needs and determining appropriate levels of coverage
Working with various commercial insurance product lines
Investigating and validating proper rating
Knowledge of company underwriting policies, procedures and practices
Inspection techniques related to commercial insurance
Communicating effectively with others
Presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner
Accessing and working with rate account information on computer terminal
Reviewing new or renewal commercial insurance accounts to determine appropriate rating classifications
Working within a team environment
College level coursework in Business Administration or a related field (Preferred)
CPCU, IIA, CIC or other insurance related coursework (Preferred)
