About the role
- Field Service Technician responsible for installing and maintaining food processing equipment for Reiser. Requires extensive travel and strong electro-mechanical skills.
Responsibilities
- Apply highly developed troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical skills, and sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems to install and maintaining processing & packaging machinery.
- Provide preventive maintenance and on-site equipment repair.
- Travel 80% (Mon-Fri) away from home visiting food plants primarily in the Southwest Region of the country but may travel beyond the territory as required.
- Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Engage with customers on site, analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
- Share information with team members, customers, and your supervisor to help prioritize and keep customer apprised of corrective actions and equipment status.
- Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
- Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.
Requirements
- Five (5) plus years of maintenance experience -- servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery.
- Experience of maintenance, installation, service and diagnosing issues/repairs on automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred.
- Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers specifications.
- Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
- Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership.
- 60-70% travel during the week (Mon-Fri) during training, 60-70% travel after training.
- Travel to the islands will be required for this opportunity.
- Food Processing or Packaging Machinery experience is desired.
- Bilingual English-Spanish skills is desired.
