About the role
- IT Infrastructure Support Engineer ensuring operational stability of server and network management systems. Involved in automation and IT security policy implementation in a dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the smooth operation of a development environment for servers, storage, clients, networking and user management — focus on Microsoft Windows
- Automating configuration settings and deployments for servers and clients
- Implementing IT security policies according to various standards (e.g. BSI IT-Grundschutz)
- Automating updates for server and client configurations, deployments and administration for the test and integration environment
- Handling backups and monitoring their status
- Collaborating with IT service providers (internal and external)
Requirements
- Successfully completed technical degree, e.g., in Computer Science or equivalent
- Required knowledge of IT infrastructure (operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking, directory services (Active Directory, Group Policies, LDAP), DNS, CI/CD)
- Desirable knowledge: virtualization with VMware, experience in IT security
- Scripting skills: Bash, PowerShell, Python for automation, and familiarity with modern tools: Jira, Confluence, Git, Jenkins
- Strong problem analysis and troubleshooting skills, team player, awareness of compliance and integrity
- Excellent German and English language skills
- Willingness to travel for business
