About the role

  • Event Specialist co-owning event delivery strategy and execution at Preply's Barcelona hub. Taking hands-on ownership of live events while partnering with multiple teams across locations.

Responsibilities

  • Co-own the end-to-end strategy and delivery of Preply’s flagship and large-scale events, such as One Preply, Chapter Offsites, and monthly community moments.
  • Take hands-on ownership of event execution, with primary responsibility for organising and delivering events in our Barcelona hub, while supporting delivery across London and Kyiv.
  • Define, manage, and continuously evolve the community event strategy across all Preply hubs, ensuring consistency, quality, and room for local experimentation.
  • Translate Preply’s mission (Powering people’s progress), principles, and business priorities into engaging, high-quality event experiences.
  • Plan and manage all operational aspects of events: timelines, logistics, run-of-show, venues, vendors, and on-site delivery.
  • Act as a key operational decision-maker during live events, ensuring smooth execution and excellent participant experience.
  • Partner cross-functionally with People teams, Employer Brand, and other stakeholders to align events with company priorities.
  • Manage event budgets, suppliers, and tools, ensuring strong financial discipline and quality delivery.
  • Track engagement and feedback metrics, run post-event retrospectives, and continuously improve formats and processes.
  • Contribute to building scalable playbooks, standards, and best practices within the Workplace Experience team.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in events, community, workplace experience, employee engagement, or employer branding, with clear end-to-end ownership of complex initiatives.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, high-visibility events, including hands-on operational execution.
  • Strong experience working in European contexts, with familiarity sourcing venues and managing suppliers in major cities such as Barcelona, London, or comparable hubs.
  • A highly developed execution mindset: detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and comfortable making real-time decisions.
  • Ability to think strategically while staying deeply involved in delivery.
  • Confidence partnering with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and event tools.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and a strong sense of ownership.
