About the role

  • Werkstudent:in im Event- & Community-Management bei Merchant Inspiration in Berlin. Mitgestaltung bei Projekten und Events sowie Unterstützung im Eventmanagement und Community-Building.

Responsibilities

  • You will actively help improve our events and community formats on an ongoing basis.
  • Your work directly contributes to ensuring participants, speakers and partners experience a high-quality event experience and that internal processes run smoothly.
  • You will participate in ongoing project and event management for the Merchant Inspiration Talks and other community events.
  • You will research vendors, pricing and new ideas (e.g., catering, side events, program elements) and prepare decision-making materials.
  • You will support communications with speakers, sponsors, partners, venues and service providers.
  • You will assist with location scouting for future events (e.g., MIT27).
  • You will contribute to the planning and conceptualization of new community formats for 2027.
  • You will create briefings, overviews and documentation (e.g., in Google Docs, Sheets or Notion).
  • You will take responsibility for logistics, materials planning and organizational back-office tasks related to events.
  • Depending on your interests and focus, you can gradually expand and develop your own areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • You are currently enrolled at a college or university and can work 20 hours per week as a working student.
  • You are eager to take on responsibility and drive initiatives forward.
  • You have some practical experience or a strong interest in event management, project organization and/or community building.
  • You work in a structured, reliable and careful manner – even when multiple tasks run in parallel.
  • You communicate clearly, kindly and professionally – both written and verbal – in German (English is a plus).
  • You are interested in events, e‑commerce and digital community formats.
  • You are comfortable with common digital tools (e.g., Google Docs, Sheets, Notion) or can learn them quickly.
  • You bring a proactive, solution-oriented approach and a good degree of initiative.
  • You can work independently and strive to implement things pragmatically with a hands-on mentality.
