About the role
- Network & Communications Engineer at PRC-Saltillo leading design, implementation, and support of global network infrastructure. Ensure performance and security of communications platforms across locations.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, VLAN, and VPN infrastructure across domestic and international locations
- Develop secure, scalable network architectures to support business growth and global expansion
- Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions
- Own and manage internal, external, and third‑party hosted DNS services (e.g., Cloudflare, GoDaddy)
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
- Maintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and procedures
- Provide after‑hours on‑call support for critical incidents and scheduled weekend or evening changes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- In lieu of a degree, 8–10 years of equivalent industry experience may be considered
- 5+ years of experience with LAN, WAN, VLAN, and VPN technologies
- 5+ years of experience with core networking protocols (DHCP, DNS, NTP, LDAP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS)
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise network hardware (Cisco, Meraki, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, or similar)
- 5+ years of experience supporting VoIP platforms (Nextiva, RingCentral, 8x8, or similar)
- 5+ years of experience with network monitoring, diagnostics, and security best practices
- Experience with cloud networking and NaaS/IaaS platforms (Azure, AWS)
