About the role

Team Lead for Risk Management System (RMS) and Internal Control System (ICS) at BASF, managing risk strategy, compliance, and standards while leading a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

you own and manage the company-wide Internal Control System (ICS) as well as the risk strategy and corporate standards for the organization's Risk Management System (RMS).
you define, maintain, and continuously enhance RMS/ICS standards, methodology, and governance and ensure full alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and global governance expectations.
you lead and develop the RMS and ICS team.
monitor enterprise-wide RMS and ICS risk assessments and scoping and drive control automation and digitalization.
ensure consistent and high-quality RCM design and maintenance and serve as the primary contact for the management board, supervisory board and Internal and External Audit.
accountable for periodic risk management reporting to Management Board and external risk reporting ("Lagebericht") in accordance with DRS 20 and will prepare and present ICS status updates, key risks, and findings to governance bodies.

university degree in law, economics, natural sciences, or a comparable field
at least five years of experience in an RMS or ICS department ideally within the agriculture, chemical, or another regulated industry
deep knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management standards and regulatory expectations including RCM design, automation and governance structures including first leadership experience
proven digital and AI focus with the ability to leverage modern technologies and data-driven approaches to enhance efficiency and quality
excellent German and English skills as well as proficiency with standard IT and RMS or ICS-relevant systems
strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, communication strength and the ability to guide cross-functional stakeholders
