Responsibilities
Design, automate and certify interconnection solutions and services based on product management and NSE requirements.
Participates in designing next generation infrastructure and solutions for layers 1-3 network services.
Analyzes, selects, and performs testing and certifications on optical, switching, and transport technology options from various vendors.
Develops test plans and strategies and performs hands-on certification to ensure that architectural concepts, features and customer use cases work as anticipated and meet the requirements provided by Product Management and/or NSE.
Has a deep understanding of vendor community network solutions and capabilities, and influences changes in their roadmaps to meet Equinix's needs.
Participates in deployment readiness evaluation with Global Network Engineering and NSE teams.
Design and implement Python-based automation tools to validate Network Operating Systems, features, and use cases.
Optimize existing test automation tools and environments.
Be able to gather testing requirements from stakeholders and implement those in test strategies.
Requirements
15+ years experience in Network Engineering and Automation
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering or Related Field preferred
Strong hands-on experience of network automation using Python, K8s, Linux Networking and network virtualization technologies
Strong hand-on experience of working with service provider networking technologies and protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, Segment Routing, QoS, EVPN, VXLAN
