Market and Procurement Policy Analyst focusing on California’s electric supply and regulatory environment. Supporting policy development and advocating for PG&E's positions in various regulatory processes.
Responsibilities
Develop, design, and execute a variety of tasks and analyses on electric markets, policy proposals, and business strategies.
Support analysis (both qualitative and quantitative) and coordinate internally to help inform the company’s positions and strategies.
Engage in relevant CPUC stakeholder processes including through developing comments, creating presentations, and potentially presenting at stakeholder meetings.
Research and communicate emerging regulatory issues and/or policy issues.
At all times, be a positive force for the team and bring teammates along to achieve objectives together.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Policy, Sociology, Engineering, Physics or other related fields or equivalent work experience
Minimum of two years of related work experience
Experience in energy markets, portfolio management and energy policy development and advocacy strongly preferred.
Possess an in-depth understanding of electric utility operations, utility planning, credit and risk management, quantitative analysis, law and regulatory relations, utility revenue requirement and ratemaking
Demonstrated experience successfully working with cross-functional teams
Understanding of PG&E’s and/or California’s energy, capacity, and clean energy procurement and sales rules and strategies and CPUC oversight
Ability to draft written comments in regulatory proceedings, be an effective presenter at public workshops, and sponsor expert witness testimony
Demonstrated skills: Team player, effective project manager, strong writing skills, decisiveness, business understanding, good organizational and communication skills, and the ability to flourish in a highly fluid environment with multiple high priority tasks.
