About the role
- Financial Reporting & Controls Accountant blending financial accounting and grant accounting at a quantum computing company. Focusing on strong controls and scalable finance processes in a growing finance function.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close, owning critical journals and helping shape a disciplined, well-run close process
- Build confidence in the balance sheet by taking ownership of key reconciliations and strengthening controls
- Own grant accounting lifecycle including tracking, accounting and reporting of grant funding
- Raise the bar on controls and processes by documenting, improving and future-proofing finance processes and policies
- Shape how finance works at scale and support system and process improvements
- Turn data into insight whilst maintaining integrity across systems like NetSuite
- Partner with the business to deliver ad-hoc analysis and deep-dives
- Be a trusted technical voice that supports audits and act as a mentor within the finance team
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in practice or a commercial finance team
- Knowledge of month-end close processes
- Detailed balance sheet reconciliations
- Supported internal and external audits
- Worked confidently with IFRS
- Strong internal controls environment experience
- Confident working in Excel, using tools like pivot tables, lookups and scenario analysis
- Experience with finance systems such as NetSuite, macros or advanced data handling is a plus
