Staff Applications Engineer developing electrical solutions for nVent products across industrial energy and infrastructure projects. Collaborating with customers from design to installation.
Responsibilities
Serve as an expert on product development, electrical product manufacturing processes, compliance, and end-use applications
Promote Facility Electrical Protection and proper use of nVent ERICO products through customer site visits
Deliver market intelligence and VOC insights to multi-functional project teams through interactions with customers
Provide technical expertise to specifying engineers and adapt systems to customer specifications
Manage engineering projects for new products, enhancements, cost reduction, consolidation, and line extensions
Drive digital transformation by developing design, quoting, and inspection tools
Ensure technical accuracy in training materials, installation guides, manuals, and LMS content
Represent nVent on industry codes and standards committees
Assist customers with selecting and applying ERICO and ERIFLEX products
Support initiatives in E-mobility, Energy Storage, and Renewable Energy.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering degree from an accredited program required
Ideally 10+ years of proven experience in a related engineering field
Experience relating to electrical power systems, electrical connectors or other electromechanical products – ideally, low voltage power systems
Able to manage various projects in fast-paced, self-directed environments, and communicate effectively—both in-person and virtually
Both awareness of electrical design and safety standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC, UL) and hands-on experience with electrical laboratory equipment
Ability to travel up to 20% for customer support and off-site testing, as needed.
