(Senior) Engineer in Mechanical Pitch & Yaw Bearings at Nordex contributing to wind turbine reliability and performance. Collaborating with engineering and suppliers in an international environment with a safety focus.
Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze the operational performance of pitch and yaw bearings in wind turbine applications
Investigate reliability metrics and field data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement in bearing systems
Perform and develop root cause analyses for pitch and yaw bearing failures and deviations
Support the mechanical design of pitch and yaw bearings, including DFMEA, technical specifications, and validation activities
Contribute to supplier qualification and perform technical assessments of pitch and yaw bearing manufacturers
Collaborate with quality, design, and service teams to ensure stable bearing performance throughout the product lifecycle
Requirements
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of five years’ professional experience in the wind turbine industry with a focus on pitch and yaw bearings
Solid understanding of bearing design, reliability engineering, and mechanical analysis methods
Knowledge of quality assurance and structured problem-solving methodologies is an advantage
Experience working in international, cross‑functional engineering teams with strong communication skills
Fluent English required; German and/or Spanish language skills are a plus
Willingness to travel occasionally and ability to manage multiple technical topics in parallel with an analytical approach
