About the role
- Director of Fundraising leading high-impact donor events for National MS Society. Executing fundraising campaigns and managing donor relationships to drive event success in Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of gala, auction, and social fundraising events
- Ensure revenue goals are met through corporate sponsorships, table and ticket sales, donor activation, and major gift solicitation
- Serve as the market’s lead fundraiser for assigned campaigns
- Translate national models into compelling local experiences
- Partner with the AVP to report on pacing and adjust execution as needed
- Foster cross-team alignment by coordinating frontline activity
- Use CRM and campaign dashboards to inform decisions and track performance
- Support coordination of fundraising activity among peer staff
Requirements
- Progressive experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals
- Demonstrated success in managing donor pipelines and cultivating major gifts
- Experience executing multi-channel fundraising campaigns
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers and coordinating cross-functional initiatives
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinker able to develop long-term fundraising plans
- Experience planning and executing donor events, stewardship programs, and grant proposals
