Responsibilities
Independent end-to-end responsibility for the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under US GAAP and HGB for defined entities, including quality assurance, documentation and reconciliation of complex issues
Deep technical expertise in complex accounting and valuation topics (provisions including restructuring, deferred taxes, inventory valuation, revenue recognition), working closely with team members and other finance teams
Overall responsibility for the accounting of company pension plans (DB/DC)
Point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, tax audits and Internal Audit in the areas of responsibility
Preparation of audit packages, answering complex technical queries and implementing audit findings
Responsible for CAPEX / fixed-asset projects
Finance Business Partner for operational areas (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Projects, Managing Directors)
Constructive, reliable interface work with Corporate, Controlling, Tax and Audit
Occasional support of junior staff through training/explanations on specific issues or process steps
Close collaboration with working students: structured onboarding, task allocation, technical supervision and quality assurance of their deliverables
Continuous improvement and further development of processes (automation, optimization)
Partial/project responsibility for initiatives and harmonizations, and for implementing new controls
Requirements
Completed commercial vocational training with further qualification as Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) or a university degree in business administration with focus on accounting and taxation
At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting as a Bilanzbuchhalter at an internationally operating company, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
Comprehensive and advanced knowledge of accounting under HGB and US GAAP/IFRS
Very good user skills in MS Office tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Extensive SAP knowledge in FI/CO/AA/MM (Financials/Controlling/Asset Accounting/Materials Management)
Very good written and spoken German and English skills
