Assistant Attorney General in Antitrust Division handling complex legal cases for Massachusetts. Collaborating with federal and state attorneys on antitrust enforcement and policy development.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Attorney General will represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in investigations and litigation before state and federal courts.
Will be responsible for handling a substantial number of matters involving the enforcement of state and federal antitrust laws.
Cases will cover a broad range of industries and will often pose complex and cutting-edge legal and economic issues.
In addition to handling their own cases, the Assistant Attorney General will work with other attorneys, including, in some cases, attorneys from other states across the country and attorneys with the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission.
The Assistant Attorney General may be involved in policy development, including drafting or reviewing proposed legislation.
Requirements
Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar or be eligible for admission in short order.
Litigation and/or other relevant legal experience, preferably three years or more of complex civil litigation experience.
Previous experience in antitrust or competition law is desired, but not required.
Experience with quantitative and/or economic analyses or experience working on matters involving such analyses, preferred.
Ability to quickly grasp sometimes complex legal, business, financial, and economic concepts.
Excellent oral and written advocacy skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
